Fiedler Real Estate Referral Group

Keep your license.
Keep it local.

One of the few local referral companies left. Keep your New Jersey real estate license active and earning — without the costs and commitments of actively selling — with the family firm that never left Main Street.

Why it exists

Your license is worth keeping.

You worked for that license — the courses, the exam, the years of clients and closings behind it. Letting it lapse throws all of that away. But staying active the traditional way means dues, fees, and obligations that make no sense if you're not selling every day.

A referral company solves exactly this — and as the big franchises have shut theirs down, Fiedler has kept ours running. Hang your license with the Fiedler Real Estate Referral Group and it stays alive and renewed. When someone you know is buying or selling, you refer them through Fiedler and earn a referral fee when the deal closes. No floor time. No showings. No pressure.

The tradeoff is real, and it's the law: in New Jersey, referral status is its own restricted license category. A referral agent can't list, show, advise, or negotiate — you introduce the prospect to your broker, a working agent handles everything, and you're paid through your broker when it closes. If your network produces nothing one year, you earn nothing — but nothing was costing you, either.

Know the difference

Same career. Two very different licenses.

Full-time active agent

Selling is the job.

  • The whole transaction — prospecting, listing, showing, negotiating, closing — under broker supervision
  • Board of Realtors & MLS membership, with the annual dues and fees that come with them
  • 12 continuing-education credits every two-year license cycle
  • Nights, weekends, and whenever a client needs you
  • The full earning ceiling that comes with all of it
Referral agent

The license lives. You live your life.

  • Your license stays alive and renewed, held with the Referral Group
  • No continuing education — the state requires none to renew in referral status
  • No board or MLS membership — those dues go away
  • No floor time, no showings, no client files, no availability clock
  • Refer friends, family & neighbors to your broker — earn when it closes

The dollars-and-cents specifics — what board and MLS dues actually run, the state's fees, what each path costs in a year — are part of the conversation. Bring every question; you'll get straight numbers.

The path

Referral today. Active whenever you're ready.

Step 01

Bring your license home

One conversation, one transfer form. Your license hangs with the Referral Group and stays active — locally, with people who know your name.

Step 02

Live your life

Teach. Retire. Raise kids. Travel. When someone you know needs an agent, you make the referral — and you earn when it closes.

Step 03

Come back when you want

Ready to sell again? Your license never went cold. You change status back and catch up on core continuing education — the exact steps depend on how long you stepped away, and we'll walk you through your path. No starting from zero.

Old practice, kept alive

Referral has been Fiedler's business since the 1970s.

This is old practice at Fiedler: the firm joined the RELO relocation network around 1977, and by 1979 ran its own corporate transfer division, headed by office manager Russ Caron — a U.S. government relocation consultant whose own moves ran through Keflavik, Iceland, and Ankara, Turkey before landing him in Hackettstown in 1976.

Today more than twenty licensed agents keep their licenses with the Referral Group — teachers, retirees, and lifelong locals whose names you'd recognize. You can meet them on the Team page.
